Alta V. Michael Jaggars

Alta Victoria Michael Jaggars was born December 30, 1924 in McNairy County, TN the daughter of the late William Cubie and Algie Reda Channell Michael. Mrs. Jaggars departed this life on June 5, 2015 in Hendersonville, Tennessee at the age of 90 Years, 5 Months, 6 Days.

She was united in marriage to Raymond Jaggars in 1956 . Mr. Jaggars preceded her in death on September 21, 2003.

Alta attended Union University in Jackson, TN. She transferred to Belmont College in Nashville where she graduated in June 1959 with a Bachelor of Science Degree. She and her husband Raymond moved to California where the Lord led them to do missionary work through the Southern Baptist Convention. She taught school in California until she and Raymond retired and moved back home. They resided in Ramer, TN where they, along with his relatives and their community, organized and built Eastview Baptist Church where she remained a charter member. She devoted her energy to make it a beautiful place of worship for all who came.

Alta's love for God shined through in her daily life. She was passionate about her love for teaching children to know Jesus and working and playing with them. She had many creative hobbies, some of which were arts and crafts, sewing, quilting, growing flowers, gardening, and grooming God's beautiful earth to bear it's fruits. She enjoyed teaching her nieces and nephews how to hold her baby chicks and to enjoy all of God's wonderful nature. Alta loved visiting with family, neighbors, and friends. She loved sharing the love of God wherever she went.

Of Alta's immediate family, she leaves all her siblings and many nieces and nephews that she loved very much.

She is survived by three sisters, Almeda Harlene Hester and husband Gordon of Goodlettsville, TN, Olgie Dorthene Brown and husband Jim of Selmer, TN, Rebecca Athena Carman of Birmingham, AL (Late husband John Harold Carman); two brothers, Wilburn Okolona Michael of Hendersonville, TN, Alton Dalton Michael and wife Doris of Jackson, TN and a host of extended family and friends.
