Alton Petty of Waynesboro was born October 20, 1930 in Lutts, TN the son of the late Bud Hardin and Climmie Franks Petty. Mr. Petty died Saturday, June 7, 2014 at NHC Scott in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee at the age of 83 Years, 7 Months, 18 Days. Mr. Petty, a Korean War veteran, served in the U.S. Army and was a retired farmer.
He is survived by a daughter, Mary Ann Stults and her husband Greg of Iron City, TN, three grandchildren, Justin Stults, Tyler Stults, and Alyssa Stults, a brother, Bunda Petty of Waynesboro, TN, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Petty was preceded in death by two brothers, Bill Petty and Haggard Petty, two sisters, Robie Bevis and Thelma Petty Johnson.
Services are Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at 1:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors Chapel in Collinwood, Tennessee, with John E. Banks officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in the Balentine Cemetery with Shackelford Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers are Darrell Petty, Shane Petty, Scotty Petty, Justin Stults, Tyler Stults, and Chris Petty.
