Anita Helen Lay Haddock of Waynesboro was born April 11, 1932 in Waynesboro, Tennessee the daughter of the late John Hall and Juanita Farrris Lay. She died on Friday, April 10, 2015 at Wayne Medical Center in Waynesboro, Tennessee at the age of 82 Years, 11 Months, 30 Days. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Haddock. She began working as a clerk in the Wayne County Property Assessors office in 1984 and continued her employement there until failing health in 2014 forced her into retirement. Mrs. Haddock, an avid republican, was a member of Wayne County Republican Women Organization and also was a member of Waynesboro church of Christ.
She is survived by a son, James Haddock and his fiance Gina and a daughter, Robin Staggs and her husband Jimmy all of Waynesboro, five grandchildren, Heather Moser, Hallie Burcham, Hannah Haddock, Hunter Haddock, and Ethan Haddock, six great grandchildren, Holly Moser, Cory Moser, Bailey Burcham, Chelsea Moser, Makayla Nance, and Jacie Burcham,
three brothers, Vernon Lay and his wife Linda of Waynesboro, Billy Wade Lay and his wife Connie, and Johnny Farris Lay and his wife Diana all of Collinwood, several nieces and nephews.
Services will be Sunday, April 12, 2015 at 3:30 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors Chapel in Waynesboro, Tennessee with Bobby Pinckley and Victor Lay officiating. Burial will follow in the Waynesboro Memorial Gardens with Shackelford Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements. Visitation will be Sunday, April 12, 2014 from 10:30 AM until 3:30 PM at the funeral home. Pallbearers are Brent Lay, Bart Lay, Jonathan Lay, Danny Reatherford, Doug Folger, and Terry Bryant.
