Ann Kelly Young

Ann Kelly Young was born on April 7, 1935 in Savannah, Tennessee to the late Thomas Jefferson and Rae Louise Averett Kelly.

On February 8, 1974, she was united in marriage to Floyd A. Young, who preceded her in death on May 6, 2007.

Mrs. Young grew up in the Oldtown Community, later moved to Atlanta, Georgia where she graduated from Draughons Business School and then moved to Nashville, Tennessee where she was employed by the Baptist Sunday School Board as Manager of Lifeway Bookstore. She moved to Savannah, Tennessee where she was a member of Turkey Creek Baptist Church, and a member of the Whites' Family Community Education Club and also a member of the United Methodist Women. She was career driven, a world traveler and a homemaker. She loved Jesus Christ and strongly believed in the Ministry of Music. Her most important roles were a mother, wife and daughter. She loved hand crafts, such as crocheting, sewing and quilting was her self-proclaimed nerve medicine. It gave her great pleasure, especially after twenty years, of raising chickens, animals and gardening with her children.

Mrs. Young departed this life on October 9, 2013 at the age of 78 years, 6 months and 2 days.

She is survived by her children, Thomas Alan Young of Paris, Tennessee and Kelly Ann Young of Savannah, Tennessee; special friends, Larry and Charlotte Barton of Bowling Green, Kentucky and Jerri Andrews of Winder, Georgia.

In addition to her husband, Floyd A. Young, and parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Tom Kelly.
