Anna L. Blackwelder departed this life on February 28, 2015 at the age of 89 years, 10 months, and 23 days. She was born on April 5, 1925 in Savannah, Tennessee, daughter to the late Edgar and Maxine Harville Phillips. She was united in marriage to Vaughn Blackwelder on November 7, 1945, who preceded her in death on December 13, 2004.
Mrs. Blackwelder was a member of the Church of Christ and the Order of the Eastern Star. In addition to living in Savannah, Tennessee, she also had lived in Arkansas and Illinois. Anna was employed in the retail industry as a sales person. She enjoyed crafts, cooking, gardening, sewing, and quilting.
Mrs. Blackwelder is survived by her children, Linda Wood of Des Moines, Iowa and Vicki Scantlin and her husband, Mike, of Rockford, Illinois; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by seven brothers; two sisters; and one grandchild, Brandon Scantlin.
