Archie Wendell Horton

Archie Wendell Horton of Collinwood, TN was born December 25, 1940 in Wayne Co., TN, the son of the late Arch Werlie and Goldie Ollie Victory Horton. He was united in marriage to Mary Lynn Stricklin and she preceded him in death on December 2, 1990.
Mr. Horton was a timber cutter and attended Piney Grove Freewill Baptist and Cromwell Crossroad Church.
Mr. Horton departed this life on Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at Waynesboro Health and Rehabilitation Center in Waynesboro, Tennessee at the age of 74 Years, 2 Months, 21 Days.
He is survived by a brother, David Horton of Westpoint, TN; sisters, Mildred Robbins and Joyce Skelton both of Collinwood, TN; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Horton was preceded in death by a brother, James Paul Horton.
Services will be Saturday, March 21, 2015 at 1:00 PM at Cromwell Crossroads Church, 1200 Bear Creek Road, Collinwood, Tennessee, with Greg Eaton officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County, directing. Pallbearers will be Gerald Risner, Troy Rich, Harlon Robbins, Roger Stults, Shane Petty and Vernon Reaves.
Visitation will be Friday, March 20, 2015 from 5 pm to 9:00 pm and Saturday, March 21, 2015 from 9 am to service time at Cromwell Crossroads Church.
