Artie Mae Sharp

June 28, 1923 — May 31, 2014

Artie Mae Sharp departed this life on Saturday, May 31, 2014, at the age of 90 years, 11 months, 3 days.

She was born in Waterloo, Alabama on June 28, 1923, the daughter of the late Willie and Pearl Vinson Landrum. On June 29, 1940, she was united in marriage to Roy C. Sharp, who preceded her in death on April 10, 2000.

Mrs. Sharp lived most of her life in Waterloo, Alabama and was a member of the Apostolic Lighthouse Church. She was baptized and received the Holy Ghost, and raised her children to always put their faith and trust in Jesus. She had many things she enjoyed: second hand stores, writing songs and poems, and singing. She especially liked spending time with her friends and family. Genealogy was something she was really fond of and thanks to Lee, was able to continue this without leaving her home. If you ever met her, you never forgot her and words can't say how much we will her.

Mrs. Sharp is survived by her children, Louise McCoy of Dayton, Tennessee, Loudine Shilling of Savannah, Tennessee, Paulette Duboise and husband Terry of Lutts, Tennessee, Tammy Barrett of Florence, Alabama, Jack Sharp of Waterloo, Alabama, and Shannon Sharp of Florence, Alabama; sister, Helen White of Mishawaka, Indiana; 29 grandchildren; 70 great-grandchildren; 29 great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by daughters, Dorothy Vinson and Roxanne Barrett; 3 great-grandchildren; sisters, Polly Moyer, Shelby Dawson, and Willie Tucker; brothers, Clarence, Ellis, and Leo Landrum.

Thank you to the Florence Nursing Facility staff and Hospice Advantage for all you did to care for our mother.
