BAILEY EUGENE BEECHAM
Henderson, TN: Bailey Eugene Beecham departed this life on August 27, 2014 at the Veterans Affairs Nursing Home in Humboldt, TN.
Mr. Beecham was born March 28, 1924 to the late Charlie Edward and Patra Imogene Bailey Beecham of Wildersville, TN.
He married Lodie Cherry on October 17, 1942. After sixty-eight years of marriage his wife preceded him in death on May 29, 2011. They made their home in the Montezuma Community where they farmed and Mr. Beecham ran Beecham’s Repair Shop and raised their three children.
Mr. Beecham served in World War II under General Patton in the 94th Infantry Division. He earned many medals and also sat on the war crime trials in Nuremburg.
He loved to garden and grew some of the best tomatoes in the county.
Mr. Beecham attended at the Word of Truth Church in Henderson.
He is survived by two sons, Roy Gene Beecham and wife Joyce of Montezuma and Randy Don and wife Carolyn of Laurel Hill and a daughter, Carolyn Higgins of Henderson; three granddaughters, Tracey Lamey, Chari Harris and Kandace Higgins and three grandsons, Roy Beecham, Jr., Broderick Beecham and Chad Beecham; four great grandsons, Chase Beecham, Tanner Beecham, Trey Beecham and Hugh Lamey; two great granddaughters, Adalyn Lamey and Bailee Beecham; three sisters, Mary Nolan, Sue Page of Henry, TN and Fern Wilson of Paris, TN and two brothers, Sherman Beecham and Paul Beecham of Henry, TN.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, four sisters, Katie Beecham, Velma Nolan, Maxine Bethune and Gaytha Barnhill and three brothers, Velton, Robert and Dale Beecham.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Saturday at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Casey Chapel with Larry Holley officiating and burial will follow in Bailey Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Casey Chapel 6 PM until 9 PM on Friday.
