Bailey K. Kelley of Somerville, Tennessee passed from this life Tuesday afternoon, July 8, 2014 at Methodist Healthcare in Somerville. He was 78 years, 7 months and 6 days old.
A native of the Laconia community in Fayette County, Mr. Kelley was born December 2, 1935 to the late Manley K. and Mattie Bushart Kelley. On September 12, 1959 in Alabama, he was united in marriage to the former Dorothy "Dot" Fitzgerald, who survives. He was a hard worker and retired from Slant & Slant, Inc. after working there for 20 years. He had also worked at Kilgore in Hardeman County for 18 years.
Among his hobbies, he enjoyed hunting, listening to blue grass music, and driving his golf cart around to visit friends. He was a NASCAR fan and particularly followed driver Bill Elliott. He loved spending time with his family, and enjoyed animals, especially his little white dog, "Ben." He was of the Methodist faith.
In addition to his wife of 55 years, survivors include his daughter, Barbara Annette Holden and husband Timothy of Somerville; his son, Jimmy Ray Kelley and wife Diann of Oakland; and his two grandchildren, Olivia Brooke Holden, and Gabrielle Caitlin Kelley.
Mr. Kelley was preceded in death by his parents and was the last survivor of 11 brothers and sisters prior to his passing.
