Betty Rose Bartlett, age 78, of Bolivar, departed this life Saturday, July 15, 2017 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
The widow of James Leroy Bartlett, who died in 2005, she was retired in 1999 from Western Mental Health Institute as a clerk where she had worked for 38 years. She was born June 27, 1939 in Bolivar, daughter of the late Lavern and Hazel Jernigan Jackson and lived her whole life here. She married James Leroy Bartlett on December 8, 1957 and was a volunteer at Pine Meadows Healthcare Center for over 30 years. Mrs. Bartlett was a member of Hebron Baptist Church, where she played the piano and taught children's Sunday School.
Survivors include a daughter, Jamie Watkins (Jimmy) of Bolivar; a son, Wendell Bartlett (Carla) of Bolivar; three sisters, Annette Russell of Bolivar, Dorothy Anson of Collinsville, IL and Emily Jackson of Bolivar; four grandchildren whom she dearly loved, Jeremy Watkins, Jenna Watkins Williams (Joseph), Stephen and Blake Bartlett; and two great grandchildren, Gavin Watkins and Judson Williams. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. Memorial donations in her name may be made to Hebron Cemetery.
