Mr. Bill Statler, age 76 of Proctor, Arkansas, formerly of Hardeman County, passed away at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis, TN, on Saturday March 7, 2015.
The husband of Linda Statler, who survives, he was a former shipping/receiving clerk in the steel industry, retiring in 2002. For the past 20 years he was a dog breeder, specializing in the smaller breeds. He was born January 24, 1939, in Peyton, Missouri, and lived here over 30 years. He loved to garden and work in his greenhouse, growing various plants. He enjoyed woodworking, having built his own home, and collecting stamps and coins. Mr. Statler was an active member of the Lions Club in West Memphis, Arkansas.
In addition to his wife, whom he married on April 25, 1992, surviviors include a daughter, Gloria Statler of Birmingham, AL; a son, David Statler of Proctor, AR; a step daughter, Karen Grayson and a step son, Kevin Ballard, both of Dallas, GA; four grandchildren; three step grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and all of his siblings. The family requests memorial donations be made to the Lions Club in West Memphis, Arkansas.
