Bill Vales, age 82, of Grand Valley Lakes, departed this life Thursday, June 14 at his home.
The husband of Joyce Vales, who survives, he worked in his own shop as a radiator technician. He was born December 23, 1935 in Medon, son of the late John Milton Vales and Mary Doshie Forsythe Vales, living most of his life here and a few years in Memphis. He married Joyce Manley on August 22, 1988 and was a US Army/Air Force veteran, serving as a paratrooper. He enjoyed fishing and hunting deer, and was a member of Center Ridge Pentecostal Church of God at Bethel Springs.
In addition to his wife, survivors include three daughters, Yvonne Lacefield of Colorado, Jennifer Vales of Middleton and Donna Vales of Bolivar; a son, Chris Vales; a stepson, James David Reed (Mary Kay) of Bethel Springs; three stepdaughters, Deborah Jones of Bolivar, Judy Bean (Michael) of Kingsport, TN and Wanda Manley of Bethel Springs; 2 sisters, Bonnie Dunston (Bob) of Alabama and Frances of Henderson; a brother, Johnny Vales of Henderson; numerous grand and great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 4 children, Danny Vales, Diane Trotter, Angela Black and Nancy Vales; 4 step children, Joe Reed, Kathy Janes, Gilbert Reed and Bobby Reed; and 2 brothers, Larry and Rickey Vales.
