Billie Joe Carroll was born January 2, 1943 in Boonville, MS, the son of the late Clinton Melvin and Ruby Bernice Cartwright Carroll.
Mr. Carroll was a member of Sulphur Springs Methodist Church of Selmer, TN. He was a member of the Selmer Moose Lodge. He first served our country in the U.S. Navy, then the U.S. Airforce during Vietnam and retired as Master Sergeant from the U.S. Air Force. In later years, he retired from Intex Plastics of Corinth, MS and Wilson Sporting Goods of Humboldt, TN. Mr. Carroll was an avid fisherman, loved reading and gardening.
Mr. Carroll departed this life on January 18, 2015 in Jackson, Tennessee at the age of 72 Years, 16 Days.
He is survived by two daughters, Patty Vickers and husband Jeff of Selmer, TN and Tammy Cooper and husband Tim of Bethel Springs, TN; 6 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Ruth Carroll of Boonville, MS; special niece and nephew, Camille Shoffner and Clinton Larry Carroll Jr.; a brother-in-law, Arlie Hicks and wife Virginia of Selmer, TN.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Carroll was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Hicks Carroll; a brother, Clinton Larry Carroll Sr and a special aunt, Lula Cartwright.
