Billy G. Legans was born on April 29, 1940, in Dresden, Tennessee.
He worked as a carpenter and as a past time, he loved to build model ships; some of his work is on display at the McNairy County Library.
He departed this life on July 22, 2013, at the Hardin Home Nursing Home In Savannah, Tennessee, at the age of 73 years, 2 months and 23 days.
He is survived by two sons, Jerry L. Legans of Lake Charles, Louisiana and Earl R. Legans of Morris Chapel, Tennessee, and a daughter, Ruby Legans of Martin, Tennessee; six grandchildren Latosha Legans, Shawn Derr, Allen Provence, Crystal Earp, Sabrina Legans and Kristin Legans Tovar; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, F. Troy Legans; a brother, Mac Legans, and his ex-wife and dear friend, B. Joyce Legans.
