Mrs. Burnell P. Wright, age 92 of Whiteville, Tennessee, passed away Sunday morning, July 5, 2015 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital following a brief illness.
Mrs. Wright was born Thursday, November 23, 1922 in Hornsby, Tennessee to the late Slater and Lillie McClintock Partridge. On March 16, 1952, she was united in marriage to Mr. John Winfred Wright, who passed away September 22, 2005.
She lived most of her life in Hardeman County and worked, in her younger years, at Whiteville Bank. For many years, she was bookkeeper for her husband's store, Wright Brothers Grocery. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Whiteville, where she taught Sunday School and worked in the nursery for several years. She loved doting on her granddaughter, and enjoyed crocheting. She was a member of the InterSe Club as well as the 600 Club.
Survivors include her daughter, Wendy Mills and husband Lynn of Whiteville; and granddaughter, Caroline Hudspeth and husband John of Milan.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Geneva Barnhardt.
Charitable contributions made in Mrs. Wright's memory may be sent to the First Baptist Church in Whiteville.
