Carlene Sanders Williamson, age 82, of Bolivar, departed this life Thursday, January 4, 2018 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
The widow of Gary Wayne Williamson, who died on July 1, 2015, she worked as an insurance agent for 20 years with Modern Woodmen. She was born March 17, 1935 in Hardeman County, daughter of the late Carl Otto Sanders and Florence Hooper Sanders and lived all of her life in the county. She was the owner/operator of City Cafe and had worked for the garment factory in Bolivar for 5-6 years. Mrs. Williamson was a member of Porters Creek Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Johnny Vickers (Gayle) of Bolivar; two sisters, Mildred Goodrum and Ruth Flanders, both of Bolivar; 4 grandchildren, Chris and Gabe Vickers, Ashley Stover and Ryder Vickers; 4 great grandchildren with 'one on the way'; and a host of nieces and nephews who loved her dearly. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Tempie Cox, Sadie Fowler, Ethel Lou Sanders and Sarah Katherine Sanders.
