Carnell (Rabbit) Smith departed this life on Monday, August 11, 2014, at the age of 88 years, 3 months, 3 days.

He was born in Wayne County, Tennessee on May 8, 1926, the son of the late Ed and Eddie White Smith. He was a veteran of the US Army. He had worked in the logging business, Savannah Button Factory, for the City of Savannah, Grady Qualls Oil Co., Clement Concrete Co., and River City Concrete. Carnell loved to tell jokes and stories, family was the joy of his life and he loved spending time with them and his friends. He was a a hardworker and a man of his word.

Carnell is survived by a daughter, Rhonda Butler and husband, Earl of Savannah, Tennessee; sons, Michael Smith and wife, Shelia, and Randy Smith all of Adamsville, Tennessee; 6 grandchildren; 11 great- grandchildren; brother, Louis Smith of Toledo, Ohio.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 7 brothers and 2 sisters.
