Cherry Louise Hurst Pipes was born on October 14, 1924, in Hardin County, Tennessee, the daughter of Cherry Lefler and Mary Godwin Hurst. On September 15, 1945, she was united in marriage to Tom Clarence Pipes, who preceded her in death on May 20, 1972.
Mrs. Pipes, a homemaker, lived in Hardin County her entire life, She was an outdoor person, who enjoyed cooking, listening to the radio and dancing.
Mrs. Pipes departed this life on November 9, 2013, at Hardin Medical Center in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 89 years and 26 days.
She is survived by her grandchildren, Jerry Vickery, Donna Tucker, Jimmy Stricklin, Tonya Branner, Amy Cole and James Ray Stricklin; ten great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and two step great-great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by three children, Clarence Wayne Pipes, Brenda Gail Stricklin and Bonnie Lou Vickery; and three siblings, Sterling Hurst, Marcella Neill and Florene Hurst.
