CURTIS PATTEN
Medon, TN: Curtis Riley Patten age 90 passed away May 30, 2018 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.
He was born February 11, 1928 in Polk County, MO and grew up in Mena, AR the son of the late Zenith and Susie Isbell Perdue Patten. He attended school in Mena, AR and did timber work as a young man. He entered the U.S. Army in 1949 and served seven months and returned to the army in 1950 and served as a postal clerk in the Army in Japan.
He married Shirley Jean Mosier in 1955. They made their home at Medon. He farmed for several years. He worked for Daniel Construction as an iron worker traveling building manufacturing facilities and a nuclear plant. He then worked at Chickasaw State Park in maintenance and retired.
He was baptized in the Pacific Ocean and was a member of the Clover Creek Baptist Church. He served on various committees at Clover Creek and did maintenance at the Church and had sung in the choir. He and Shirley had been married for years 62+ years. He cherished his little dog, Bubba.
Mr. Patten is survived by his wife, Shirley Jean Mosier Patten of Medon; two sisters, Dola Head and Della Davis both of Mena, AR.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Verna Cunningham.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Saturday, June 2, 2018 at Clover Creek Baptist Church with Terry Acred officiating. Burial will follow in Clover Creek Cemetery at Medon.
The family will receive friends at Clover Creek Baptist Church beginning at 11:00 AM Saturday.
