Daniel Eugene (Dan) Devers of Waynesboro, TN was born June 14, 1972 in Waynesboro, TN. He was united in marriage to the love of his life, Marian Kaye Haggard on February 18, 1995. Mr. Devers has worked with Corrections Corporation of America since March, 1995 and was presently serving as assistant Warden in Clifton, TN.
He was a member of the Church of God, the Clifton Rotary Club, the Kiwanis Club in Lake City, FL where he was a past president and the United Way as a child advocate for Guardian Ad litem.
Dan served in the United States Marines as a Corporal in the Persian Gulf Conflict. He received a Rifle Expert Badge, Pistol Sharpshooter Badge, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Southwest Asia Service Medal with one star, Joint Meritorius Unit Award and Sea Service Deployment Ribbon with one star.
Dan, a loving son, husband, father and brother, is survived by his wife, Marian Haggard Devers and sons, Daniel McKinley and Dalton Ray Devers all of Waynesboro, TN; his mother, Margaret Jones of Waynesboro, TN; his father and stepmother, Joe and Glenda Devers of Lehigh Acres, FL; a sister, Candace Devers Colson of Colorado Springs, CO; a step-brother, Steven Hatsfield of Immokalee, FL; a niece, Abigail Haggard and was expecting a nephew, Carter Colson in September, 2015; his mother and father-in-law, Sherry and Bobby Allen Haley and sister-in-law, Miranda Haggard all of Waynesboro, TN and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by grandparents, C. E. (Rooster) and Marie Jones and Jim and Maggie Pearl Devers.
Services will be Thursday, August 6, 2015 at 1:00 PM at Waynesboro Middle School, Waynesboro, Tennessee, with Randall Runions officiating. Burial with military rites will follow in the North Highland Cemetery, Waynesboro, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County, officiating. The S. O. R. T. Team at C. C. A., Clifton, TN will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be Wednesday, August 5, 2015 from 5 pm to 9 pm and Thursday, August 6, 2015 from 9 am to service time at the funeral home.
