Mr. Vales, the husband of Carolyn Vales, passed from this life on Friday morning, May 3, 2019, at the Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
A native of Caruthersville, MO, he moved to this area as a teenager with his parents, the late Elbert and Buna Elta Hall Vales. He married the former Carolyn Chandler on July 17, 1965.
Mr. Vales was a former head of the electro-plating department of Harman Automotive in Bolivar and was also top salesman for MacDermid Chemical Company. He served in the Tennessee National Guard for six years and had attended Silerton Baptist Church. In his leisure time, he enjoyed target shooting, hunting, fishing and spending time with his family especially grandchildren. Mr. Vales was a generous spirit who stood at the ready to help those in need.
In addition to his wife of 53 years, he leaves two sons, Jeff Vales of Buford, GA and Jason Vales of Memphis; a sister, Shirley Vales of Toone; a brother, Jerry Vales of Jackson; three grandchildren, Rylan, Keyan and Zoe Vales; his mother-in-law, Sarah Chandler of Bolivar; two sisters-in-law, Donna Scobey of Ripley, TN and Judy Dillard of Bolivar; and several nieces and nephews.
