DENNIS F. EDGAR
Jacks Creek, TN: Dennis Fields Edgar, age 85 passed away February 10, 2015 at his daughter’s home in Lilburn, GA.
He was born October 3, 1929 in Chester County in the Cabo Community, the son of the late Charlie and Lillie Fields Edgar. He attended schools at Cabo. He worked as a truck driver all of his life. He married Floraine Wright in 1957. They made their home in Memphis for forty years working for Gordon’s Transport for twenty-four years and later retired from Arkansas Freight Ways now New American Freight Ways. They moved to Jacks Creek Community in 1998. He was a member of the Adamsville Freewill Baptist Church.
Mr. Edgar is survived by his wife, Floraine Wright Edgar; two sons, Roy Lynn Edgar and wife, Beverly of Rembert, SC and Donald Wayne Edgar and wife Renee of Bartlett, TN; a daughter, Lois Parks and husband Lloyd of Lilburn, GA; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren and a brother, Charles Edgar of Lexington.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, J.R. Edgar, Edd Edgar and Billy Edgar and a sister, Evelyn Finley.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Friday February 13, 2015 at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Casey Chapel with Pastor Marcus Morrow officiating and burial will follow in Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery in Henderson County.
The family will receive friends at Casey Chapel 5 PM until 8 PM on Thursday.
