Mr. Don Allen Mayfield, age 73 of Bolivar, Tennessee, departed this life Tuesday, February 13, 2018.
Mr. Mayfield was born in Jackson, Tennessee on Friday, December 15, 1944 to the late E. A., Mayfield, Jr. and Ruby Mainers Mayfield. He was united in marriage to Mary Ruth Mayfield, who preceded him in death. He lived all of his life in Hardeman County.
In 1963, he graduated from Bolivar Central High School, and on August 17, 1965, he enlisted with the United States Army, which he served until he was honorably discharged in August of 1971. He was a retired truck driver who loved attending auctions, yard sales, thrift stores and flea markets, often making regular trips to those in the West Tennessee and North Mississippi areas. He was a member of the Piney Grove Baptist Church.
Survivors include his sister, Gail Powers and husband Johnny of Middleton; brother, Glenn Mayfield and wife Gail of Cross Plains; son, Paul Spencer Mayfield of North Little Rock, AR; daughter, Christy Dawn Mayfield of Jackson; two grandchildren, Kenneth Dyllan and Miranda Gayle Mayfield; three stepdaughters, Dorothy Stanford and fiance Bert Davis of Bolivar, Robin Cryer and husband Kelly of Toone, and Donna Cryer of Selmer; eight stepgrandchildren, Mary Barnes, Andrea Barnes, Nicholas Barnes, Kaylan Stanford, Brittney Cryer, Justin Cryer, Michael Cryer, and Corey Cryer; and two step great-grandchildren, Angel Davis and Delken Davis.
