Donnie Stephens Alexander was born in Fentress County, Tennessee, June 12, 1944, the daughter of Frank Ealis and Ora Mae Richards Stephens, who preceded her in death. On May 24, 1963, she was united in marriage to Jimmy Ray Alexander, who survives.
Mrs. Alexander lived in Hardin County most of her life where she was employed by the Garan Incorporation for thirty-six and half years; she then retired as a homemaker. She was a member of the American Association of Retired Persons and attended Cornerstone Baptist Church in Savannah, Tennessee. Mrs. Alexander enjoyed sewing, cross-stitching, flower gardening and cooking. She was an avid reader, an avid pet lover, loved music and played the piano.
Mrs. Alexander departed this life on March 18, 2014, at Savannah Healthcare, at the age of 69 years, 9 months and 6 days,
In addition to her husband, Jimmy Ray Alexander of Savannah, Tennessee, she is survived by a daughter, Melissa Gross, and husband, Randy of Piedmont, South Carolina; two grandchildren, Jordan Samantha Gross and Emmanuelle Savannah Gross; one brother, Willis Stephens of Adamsville, Tennessee; and three sisters, Lois Alexander, Lucille Robinson and Nancy Polk, all of Savannah, Tennessee.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Doris Whited and a brother, Bruce Stephens.
