DOROTHY FARRIS DOYLE
Henderson, TN: Dorothy Dean Farris Doyle, age 85 passed away September 18, 2014 at the Henderson Health and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born September 17, 1929 in Winston County, AL and reared in Eldridge, AL the daughter of the late George Franklin and Emma Jane Norris Farris. She went to school at Carbon Hill High School and was Valedictorian of her class graduating in 1946. She went to Freed Hardeman University 1946 until 1948 and Lipscomb University 1949, where she met and married Kelley Bant Doyle, Sr. in 1950. They made their home in Henderson and Mr. Doyle taught Music and was the chairman of the Music Department at Freed Hardeman University. Mrs. Doyle continued her education at Freed Hardeman and completed her degree in Business Administration in 1976. She loved helping everyone and went about doing good. She worked at Freed Hardeman as an Administrative Assistant for both president and the Dean from 1963 until 1968. She was a member of the Pinson Church of Christ.
Mrs. Doyle is survived by two sons, Kelley B. Doyle, Jr. (Lisa) of Henderson and Daniel Farris Doyle (Angie) of Henderson; three daughters, Celia Hunt (Steve) of Henderson, Karen Goff (David) of Henderson and Cereice Morris (Chris) of Mason, TN; seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; three brothers, Frank Farris, Jr., Bud Farris (Oveta) and Landon Farris (Barbara) all of AL and two sisters, Mary Hyche and Nella McGraw (Ed) all of AL.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kelley Bant Doyle, Sr. in 2002 and two brothers, Jim Farris and Curry Farris.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Sunday September 21, 2014 at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Casey Chapel with Don Taylor, Frank Farris, Jr. and Landon Farris officiating and burial will follow in Pisgah Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Casey Chapel 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Saturday.
