Dorothy Jo McKee

Dorothy Jo McKee, age 82, of Bolivar, passed away Wednesday evening at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.

The widow of Murley Joe McKee, who died November 3, 2013 after 61 years of marriage, she was a homemaker, having worked outside the home at Kilgore for a short while. She was born Sunday, January 27, 1935 in Hardeman County, daughter of the late Wesley Marlin Scott and Hattie Margueritte Smith Scott and lived most of her life here. She enjoyed reading books and was a member of Porters Creek Baptist Church.

Survivors include two daughter, Rinda Joyner of Gibson, TN and Gwen Murphy (Larry) of Middleton; a son, Kim McKee (Debbie) of Middleton; a brother, David M. Scott of Middleton; two grandchildren, Tonya Marie Robertson (Josh) and Christopher Murphy (Krissy); and 11 great grandchildren, Emily Hunt, Riley Robertson, Bryan, David and Madison Murphy, Melanie, Nicholas and Hunter Young, Jamie, Leigh and Molleigh Burnett. In addition to her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, David "McGoo" McKee. Memorial donations in her name may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
