DWIGHT HOLLAND
Enville, TN: Jammie Dwight Holland age 88 passed away Sunday May 18, 2014 at the Henderson Health and Rehabilitation Center.
He was born September 19, 1925 in Gatewood, MO in Ripley County, the son of the late Josephus Golden Holland and Flossie May Tinker Holland. He went to school in Ripley County and Couch, MO. He entered the U.S. Navy serving on the USS Comfort from 1942 until 1944. He returned home and married Lois Bradley of Albany, OR. They made their home in Oregon for nine years. He began preaching full time in 1952. They later lived in OK and TX. He graduated from Freed Hardeman University with a Bachelor Degree of Science in 2005 at the age of 79. Mr. Holland was a member of the Church of Christ.
He retired in 2001 and lived in Henderson since that time.
He is survived by his daughter, Sheila Hesselrode of Henderson; a son, Jammie Dwight Holland, Jr. of Winnie, TX; ten grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Evelyn Bradley Holland in 2000 and a son, Bradley K. Holland in 1999.
Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Thursday at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Casey Chapel with Milton Sewell, Roy Sharp and Lyle Holland officiating and burial will follow in Gateway Cemetery at 3:30 PM on Thursday.
The family will receive friends at Casey Chapel 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Wednesday.
