Mr. Earl Hazelwood, 82 of Bolivar, Tennessee, was ushered into the presence of God on the evening of March 15, 2014. His long battle with illness is over, and he fought a good fight.
He is survived by his children, Debbie Crowe of Jackson, Rhonda Marbury and husband Tim of Medina, Rita Huskey and husband Mike of West Union, South Carolina, Tammy Johnson and husband Jonathan of Jackson, and Danny Hazelwood of Jackson; two sisters, Iona Hatch of Bolivar and Virgie Prince of Jackson, Michigan; a brother, Frank Hazelwood; seven grandchildren, Chasity Brown, Stephen Rhines, Cody Marbury, Blake Hazelwood, Blair Hazelwood, Cory Johnson and Jessica Johnson; and four great-grandchildren, Josh Brown, John Taylor Brown, Jasmine Brown and Layla Rhines.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Smith and Mary Freels Hazelwood; and two brothers, William Hazelwood and James Hazelwood.
A lifelong resident of Bolivar, he worked for the Tennessee Valley Authority for twenty years and for Bolivar Wood Products for 22 years. He served his country in the United States Army and was an involved member of the Mt. Moriah Baptist Church in Whiteville. Among his hobbies, he especially enjoyed fishing, woodworking and cooking.
His family loved him dearly and will miss him greatly. They request that memorials be made for the Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, 1825 Mt. Moriah Drive, Whiteville, TN 38075.
