Edward "Jerry" Harrison
February 24, 1931 — July 7, 2017
Mr. Harrison passed away Friday, July 7, 2017 at the Veterans' Administration Hospital, Memphis.
A native of Nashville, he was the son of the late Horace Gillis Harrison and Cornelia Ione Carney Harrison. Mr. Harrison served his country in the US Navy and served in Korea in the US Army. He worked for Piccadilly Cafeterias for over 25 years as a chef and a manager and moved to Hardeman County in 1940. He was a Primitive Baptist in belief and while in Nashville was a member of Bethel Primitive Baptist Church. He had also attended New Salem near Walnut and Old Enon near Middleton.
He leaves four sisters, Louise Callahan of Saulsbury, Peggy Capshaw of Middleton, Jo Ann Teague of Lassiter, NC and Vickie Chapman of Memphis; two brothers, Jim Harrison of Saulsbury and Gary Richard Harrison of Memphis; and a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Gillis Cordell and Sterling Bruce Harrison.
