Elloy Sims Nowlin

Elloy Sims Nowlin of Waynesboro, TN was born July 10, 1937 in Wayne Co., TN, the daughter of the late William G. and Fannie Gaylor Sims. She was united in marriage to Eunice Nowlin on November 1, 1952.

Mrs. Nowlin was a loving stay-at-home mother and wife taking care of the farm. She was a member of the Philadelphia Baptist Church in Waynesboro, Tennessee.

Mrs. Nowlin departed this life on Monday, December 16, 2013 at Wayne Medical Center in Waynesboro, Tennessee at the age of 76 Years, 5 Months, 6 Days.

She is survived by her husband of over 61 years, Eunice (Chug) Nowlin of Waynesboro, TN; two sons, James H. Nowlin of Waynesboro, TN, Robert W. Nowlin of Centerville, TN; a daughter, Judy L. Brown of Smithland, KY; grandchildren, Will Brown, Rose Maupin, Erica Nowlin; step-grandchild, Shon Holt; 9 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Nowlin was preceded in death by a brother, Walker Horton Sims; a step-grandchild, Damon Allen.

Services will be held on Thursday, December 19, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Shackelford Funeral Directors chapel, Waynesboro, Tennessee, with David Miller officiating. Burial will follow in the Philadelphia Cemetery, Waynesboro, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County, directing. Pallbearers will be Alfred Davidson, Adam Davidson, Mark Holt, Tommy Tinin, Jimmy Franks, and Terry Franks.

Visitation will be Wednesday, December 18, 2013 from 6 pm to 8 pm and Thursday, December 19, 2013 from 8 am until service time at the funeral home.
