Emerald Nathan Bailey

Emerald Nathan Bailey , Florence,, AL, formerly of Iron City, TN, was born July 1, 1926 in Wayne Co., TN, the son of the late Joe (Buddy) Nathan and Ollie Mae Roberson Bailey. He married Edith Beatrice McFall on May 8, 1948. Mr. Bailey, a retired electrician, farmer, school bus driver and minister, having pastored 14 churches over a 60 years span, was a member of Iron City Freewill Baptist Church, Iron City, Tennessee and served in the United States Army.

He departed this life Friday, July 21, 2017 at ECM Hospital, Florence, Alabama at the age of 91 Years, 20 Days.

Survivors, his wife, Beatrice Bailey; daughter Cathy Collins of Florence, AL; sons, Ronnie Bailey and wife, Teresa and Donnie Bailey and wife, Marsha all of Florence, AL, Stanley Bailey and wife, Tammy of Iron City, TN; grandchildren, Glenda Dixon, Steven Balentine, Brad Bailey, Brian Bailey, Jason Bailey, Donita Smith, Chelsea Prince and Austin Bailey, 18 great-grandchildren; brothers, Roy Bailey of Savannah, TN, Deloyd Bailey of Jackson, MI, Billy Bailey of Iron City, TN; a sister, Judy Coffman of Iron City, TN; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Bailey was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Dixon.

Services will be Sunday, July 23, 2017 at 3:30 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors chapel, Collinwood, Tennessee, with Bobby Glen Rich and Gerald Montgomery officiating. Burial with military rites will follow in Memorial Gardens, Collinwood, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County, directing. Pallbearers will be Dickey Bailey, William Coffman, Austin Bailey, Brian Bailey, Steven Balentine and Jason Bailey. Fellow ministers will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Visitation will be Saturday, July 22, 2017 from 6-9 pm and Sunday, July 23, 2017 from 11 am to service time at the funeral home.
