Emmett (Jim) Garner, Jr. departed this life on Sunday, July 12, 2015, at the age of 54 years, 5 months, 17 days. He was born in Bellwood, Illinois on January 25, 1961, the son of Emmett Watson Garner and Doris Jo Burleson Bowman.
Jim was a tool and die maker for Shiloh Industries. He enjoyed his grandchildren, camping, and horseback riding. He was a very outgoing and generous person, enjoyed sharing his faith and giving emotional support. Jim was a member of the Olive Hill Freewill Baptist Church.
He is survived by his sons, James Randall Garner of Booneville, Mississippi and Jonathan Forrest Garner of Savannah, Tennessee; grandchildren, Randal Braiden Garner, Daniel Kade Garner, and Taylor Drake Garner; mother, Doris Jo Bowman and husband, Tony of Lexington, Tennessee; father, Emmett Watson Garner and wife, Helen of Savannah, Tennessee; sister, Deborah Lynn Miller and husband, Glenn of Adamsville, Tennessee; niece, Stephanie Miller and great nephews, Ethan and Eli Miller of Adamsville, Tennessee.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Roy and Johnnie Garner, Brad and Jessie Burleson; and a nephew, Stephen Miller.
