Ernest W. Brush was born June 15, 1925 in Bethel Springs, TN the son of the late Ambrose and Alma Henson Brush.
He was united in marriage to Kitty Cooper on October 22, 1944.
Mr. Brush served in the United States military for over 20 years. He was in the Navy during WWII from 1943-1945, serving in Operation Dragoon in Southern France in August 15 - September 14, 1944. The purpose of this operation was to secure the vital ports of the French Mediteranean coast and increase the pressure on German forces by opening another front. This was considered a success as it liberated most of Southern France in a span of four short weeks. In October of 1948, he enlisted in the United States Army. He served in the Korean Conflict, first Mash Unit 8209. He also served in the Vietnam War, Medivac team for Project Gemini 4. His military career spanned over 20 years, 3 wars, different countries and many states all for the love of his Country.
Mr. Brush was an avid fisherman, gardner and enjoyed camping. He knew how to fix anything. He was a devoted husband for 73 years, enjoyed spending time and loving on his family.
Mr. Brush departed this life on January 27, 2018 in Selmer, Tennessee at the age of 92 Years, 7 Months, 12 Days. He is survived by his wife, Kitty Brush of Selmer, TN; a daughter, Janice Anne Loomis and husband Miles; a son, Ernest Cooper Brush and wife Cora; a brother, John B. Brush and wife Sarah; eight grandchildren, Kathy Paterno and husband Dominic, Patty Jennings and husband Chad, Amy Radulescu and husband Robert, Matthew Loomis and wife Julia, Kitty Brush, Andy Brush and wife Tori, Greg Brush and wife Angela, Nick Brush; numerous great grandchildren; special cousin, Peggy Griffin; and treasured friend, Rachel Beavers.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Brush was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Brush.
