Mrs. Fae J. Owens, age 83, of Bolivar, passed from this life Wednesday afternoon, July 1, 2015 at Pine Meadows Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Bolivar.
She was born on July 19, 1931, to Dewey Wynes Jacobs and Nellie Gray, in Middleton, TN. She was married to Robert Sturgis Owens on September 18, 1955. They were married until Robert passed on August 11, 1987. She was a homemaker, and a registered nurse at Brint's Hospital. She was a member of the First Bapist church. She worked in the nursery and library. She was also involved with the Golden Sounds and scrap booking. She was a member of the D.A.R. as a registrar. She was a registered nurse, graduating from Baptist School of Nursing in Memphis in 1955. She was also an avid historian. She was a graduate of Middleton High School, class of 1949. In 1974, she spent a year getting the Bolivar Community Hospital started. She was a life long resident of Hardeman county.
She is survived by her son, Hugh Keith Owens of Bolivar, TN; her three nieces, Angie Farris(Jimmy) and Cindy Plunk(Chuck) of Bolivar, and Amy Ragon(Bob) of Jackson; and a nephew, Chris Jacobs of Franklin, TN. She is preceded in death by her parents, Dewey Wynes Jacobs and Nellie Gray; her husband Robert Sturgis Owens; and a brother, Euland Jacobs.
