Fannie Cherry

Fannie Bell Cherry was born in Savannah, Tennessee on January 9, 1937 to the late Dorothy M. Cherry and Monroe A. Cherry. She was preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy M. Cherry, father, Monroe A. Cherry, siblings, Peggy Mariah Cherry, Forrest Eugene Cherry and Monroe Ellis Cherry.

Fannie was a graduate of Dunbar High School. She worked at Hardin County Hospital for over thirty years. Fannie received the Outstanding Employee Award in 1980.

She is survived by her daughter, Dorcus Cherry of Atlanta, Georgia, and her sister, Mary Steele of Oak Ridge, Tennessee. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and a special devoted nephew, Monroe Cherry, Jr.

Fannie faithfully took care of her mother until her final days.

She was united with Graham Chapel C.M.E. Church at the age of twelve where she was a devoted member.

Devoted to her family and friends she was loved by all who knew her. Fannie loved to bake for family and friends and sharing food with loved ones. She loved to travel, meeting new people, going out for dinner and she was a well organized person. She loved baking her chocolate cake for Reverend Fulton and bring him jelly beans when she stopped by the candy factory.
