Mr. Floyd Coston age 85 of Pocahontas, Tennessee passed away September 16, 2014 at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis.
A native of Camden, AR, he was the son of the late Percy Maxwell Coston and Bessie Lou Gay Coston. He graduated from Fairview High School and on August 8, 1959, he married Virginia Mae Freeman. Mrs. Coston passed away December 27, 2008. Mr. Coston served his country in the Air Force, the National Guard and Navy Reserve. A communicant of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Bolivar, he loved being a volunteer. His family described him as being a very kind man, having never met a stranger. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, collecting antique cars and building. He also enjoyed travelling. Mr. Coston had been the owner of Coston Construction and moved to Pocahontas 25 years ago, moving from Memphis where he resided for 26 years.
He leaves two daughters, Helen (Kenneth) Burton of Louann, AR and Doreen Harris of Memphis; two sons, Floyd Leonard (Susan) Coston of Atoka and John David Coston of Millington; a sister, Clementene "Joy" (Robert) Sherman of Chidester, AR; his companion, Goldie Frankie Freeman; 8 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Coston Rouse.
