Services for Floyd B.L. Darby, 88 of Cypress Inn, TN will be 1:00 PM Thursday,
at Shackelford Chapel, Collinwood with William Brewer officiating. Interment following in Austin Cemetery with Shackelford Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements. Visitation will be Thursday from 9:30 until service time at the funeral home.
Mr. Darby, a native of Wayne County, was born February 3, 1925. He died Sunday, December 22, 2013 at Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital in Florence. Mr. Darby, a maintenance worker, was retired from University of North Alabama. On December 2, 1950 he was married to Nellie Johnson Darby. He was a member of Cloverdale Baptist Church.
He is survived by wife, Nellie Johnson Darby, daughter, Sue Brewer and her husband Darrell of Cypress Inn, sons Ronald Darby and his wife Deborah and Donald Darby and his wife Susie all of Killen, AL, 7 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren, brothers, Paul Darby of Florence and Lowell Darby of Spring Valley, AL, and sisters, Mae May of Florence and Iona Ayers of Waynesboro. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brothers, Vernon Darby, Hubert Darby, Jr., and a sister, Elgina Tidwell.
