The family of Dr. Jeff Stiles wish to announce the homegoing of their beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, whom he faithfully and boldly served all of his life. He leaves a legacy to all being a tender and compassionate Pastor, a consistent, vibrant witness, a good and faithful servant of our Lord to the end.
Dr. Stiles of Waynesboro was born September 1, 1932 in Miami, FL the son of the late Elgy V. and Rosa Langdale Stiles. Dr. Stiles died on Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at Maury Regional Hospital in Columbia, Tennessee at the age of 81 Years, 11 Months, 4 Days. As a minister he spent most of his adult life in service to his church. He was an active and faithful member at Green River Baptist Church where he served as senior adult pastor. June 23, 1953 he married Louise E. Craig who survives of Waynesboro. They have 3 children, Cynthia Wishert and husband Kyle of Waynesboro, TN, Jeffrey Craig Stiles and wife Lena of Clifton, TN, and Brenda Carol Hixon of Lakeland, FL, six grandchildren, Kimberly Hightower, Jeffrey Craig Stiles Jr., Kyle Mark Wishert Jr., Christopher David Wishert, Brittany Nicole Hixon, and Brooke Lindsay Hixon, eight great grandchildren, Timothy Paul Wishert, Joshua Caleb Wishert, Abigail Joy Wishert, Christopher David Wishert, Jr.,Kiera Jean Wishert, Solomon Gabriel Wishert, Emma Lynn Joyner and Ana Marie Joyner, a sister, Elgy Jean Zieburtz of Atlanta, GA. In addition to his parents, Dr. Stiles was preceded in death by a sister, Rosa Marie Robinette.
Services will be Saturday, August 9, 2014 at 3:00 PM at Green River Baptist Church in Waynesboro, Tennessee, with Cal Hampton officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Hope (Christian) Cemetery near Waynesboro with Shackelford Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements.
