Mrs. Geneva Ferge Crafton, age 85 of Somerville, departed this life Thursday, December 12, 2013 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
A lifelong resident of Fayette County, Mrs. Crafton was born August 11, 1928 to the late Edwin and Ethel Pittman Ferge. On October 12, 1946, she was united in marriage to Mr. James Herbert Crafton, who preceded her in death May 28, 1983. She was a retired production worker, having worked for Kilgore Flares, National Fire Works and Dixie Chemicals. She was a member of the Mt. Moriah Baptist Church and the Senior Companions of Memphis.
Mrs. Crafton is survived by her children, Charlotte Dennison and husband Phillip of Jackson, James Herman Crafton and wife Jessica of Somerville, and Lester Leroy Crafton, Sr. and wife Amy Dell of Somerville; two sisters, Eva Thompson of Somerville and Betty Rodgers of Somerville; two brothers, Bailey Ferge, Sr. and wife Hazel of Somerville and Donald Ferge and wife Simone of Somerville; six grandchildren, Angela Crawley and husband Bobby, Lester Crafton, Jr. and wife Savannah, Lori Lynn cherry and husband Mark, Jacob Crafton and wife Natalie, Meagan Dennison and husband Jeff Navel, and Caleb Dennison; and six great-grandchildren, Lee, Daniel, Michael, and Jessica Crawley, Haley Race Cherry, Cooper Crafton.
In addition to her husband and parents, those who have preceded her in death include 3 sisters, Sarah Sanders, Velma Wilson, and Thelma Ferge; and 3 brothers, Jack, Cob, and David Ferge; and 2 brothers in law, L. T. Thompson and John Thomas Rodgers.
