Gerald Anthoney Jones was born in Chester County, Tennessee on April 28, 1951, the son of the late Elbert D. and Imogene Miller Jones. He spent most of his life in McNairy County, Tennessee, where he worked as a self-employed auto mechanic. On May 7, 1982, he married the former Judy K. Maness who preceded him in death less than six years later on January 12, 1988.
Gerald attended the United Pentecostal Church in Counce, Tennessee and was a member of the L & W Hunting Club in Adamsville. When he wasn't working or spending his time watching the grandbabies play baseball, Gerald would cook whole hogs for his family and friends - and every day he found time to ride the ridge and watch the wildlife there.
Gerald Jones departed this life on Friday, July 6, 2018, at the age of 67 years, 2 months, and 8 days. He leaves his children, Jeff Jones of Jacks Creek, Tennessee, Sharon Burkeens and her husband Michael of Adamsville, Tennessee, and Angela Austin and her friend Lucas Harbin of Savannah, Tennessee. He also leaves his two sisters, Linda Bobbitt and her husband John of Lexington, Tennessee and Sandy Huse and her husband Steve of Jacks Creek, Tennessee, 13 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Other than his wife and parents, Gerald was preceded in death by a son, Gerald Anthoney Jones, Jr. and a brother, Charles Jones.
