Gladys Tidwell Hosea was born in Hardin County, Tennessee on October 8, 1926, the daughter of the late John Banister and Mary Etta Baxter Tidwell. On August 15, 1946, she was united in marriage to Ancil Floyd Hosea, who preceded her in death on September 13, 2008. Mrs. Hosea departed this life on April 12, 2018, at the age of 91 years, 6 months, and 4 days.
Mrs. Hosea was a member of Mt. Hermon Baptist Church since 1953. There, she taught Preschool Sunday School for 36 years. Before retiring, she worked as a seamstress for Dillon Manufactuing and Angelica. Mrs. Hosea loved gardening, sewing, cooking, and collecting antiques.
Mrs. Hosea is survived by her son, Ancil Reece Hosea and wife Gail of Savannah, Tennessee; sister, Agnes Hopper of Pampa, Texas; brother, J.R. Tidwell of Savannah, Tennessee; grandchildren, Rodney Hosea and wife Cynthia, Jeffrey Hosea, Jason Hosea and wife Kimberly, and Blake Hosea and wife Kristi; great grandchildren, Ethan Hosea and wife Sarah, Adrienne Hosea, Heather Saint and husband Luke, Jordan Hosea, Abbie Hosea, Sydney Hosea, Heidi Hosea, Reecey Hosea, Lyndi Kate Hosea, Kaden Hosea and wife Chelsea, and Kaleb Hosea; great great grandchildren, Sophie Saint, Kholie Saint, and Ellie Mae Hosea.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Hosea was preceded in death by her sisters, Lucille Beckham, Etta Hosea, and Thelma Jerrolds, and brothers, Charles Tidwell, Tommy Tidwell, and Murray Tidwell.
