GLADYS PEARSON
Enville: Gladys Viola Hathcock Pearson, age 94, died Monday evening September 29, 2014 at Adamsville Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Mrs. Pearson was born at Michie in McNairy County and grew up in Kendrick, MS and moved to Enville in 1929. She was the daughter on the late James Jefferson and Martha Emma Parker Hathcock. She went to school at Enville and in 1935 married Thomas Andy Pearson and they made their home at Enville. She worked at Salant and Salant for 29 years and later at Leapwood Manufacturing and then Milledgeville Manufacturing, retiring in 1981. Mr. Pearson preceded in death in 1994. She continued to make her home at Enville and was a faithful member on the Enville United Pentecostal Church for over 66 years where she was a faithful prayer warrior. She loved her community, family, and friends. Her favorite pass time was visiting with old friends by telephone.
She is survived by two daughters; Elizabeth Ann Pugh and husband Wayne of Milledgeville and Gail Sims of Enville, 8 grandchildren; Tony Willis (Candy), Kim Williams, Tracy Willis (Deana), Kevin Willis (April), Brittany Fletcher (Chris), Christy Williams, Trinity McDaniel (Scott), and Dustin McCollum (Maley), 23 great grandchildren, and 11 great great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Thursday at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Casey Chapel with Bro. Travis Grimsley officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery at Enville.
The family will received friends at Shackelford – Casey Chapel beginning at 5:00 PM Wednesday.
