Glenn Allen Doyle

February 7, 1938 — March 11, 2018

Col. Glenn Allen Doyle, (Ret.) was born February 7, 1938 in Memphis, TN the son of the late James F. and Maude Mae Creel Doyle.

His distinguished service in the U.S. Army of over 30 years included two tours of duty in Vietnam. He was united in marriage to June Florence Collier on July 17, 1965 and they were inseparable. He received his Bachelors from Mississippi State University. He was a member of St. Jude's Catholic Church in Selmer, TN and Glenn loved the members. He was an avid gardener, fierce lover of Henry McKenna Bourbon, a collector of chess sets and a good player, golfer, salt water fisherman, movie buff, and the ultimate Tennessee Cowboy who was proud to be from that great state. He fiercely loved all his family, both immediate and extended. He was always there to take care of all of them no matter what they needed.

Mr. Doyle departed this life on March 11, 2018 in Selmer, Tennessee at the age of 80 Years, 1 Month, 4 Days.

He is survived by his wife, June Florence Doyle; two daughters, Michelle Doyle Munn and husband Alan, Bonnie Doyle Whitbeck and husband Jeff; seven grandchildren: Andi, Alaira, Christopher, Jason, Derek Allen (Big AL), Daniel and Jonathan; and a host of other relatives and loved ones.

In addition to his father, Mr. Doyle was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Moore; five brothers: Leslie, Richard, Raymon, Kenneth and Cecil Doyle.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 17, 2018 from 10 am - 12 pm, Funeral Mass at 12:30 pm with reception after, all held at St. Jude Catholic Church in Selmer, TN. Shackelford Funeral Directors in Selmer. (731)645-3481
