Grace B. Rickman Spencer departed this life on Friday, May 1, 2014, at the age of 90 years, 10 months, 20 days.
Grace was born in McNairy County, Tennessee on June 11, 1923, the daughter of the late Walter and Sallie Burns Rickman. On November 5, 1944, she was united in marriage to Buford Elwood Spencer, who preceded her in death on February 19, 1996.
She was raised on a working farm in the Mt. Zion Community in McNairy County. Grace was the owner and operator of Spencer's Cafe for 40 years and was known for her "Grace Burger". She loved piecing quilts and quilting, enjoyed reading, and liked gardening. She was a member of the Milledgeville United Methodist Church and the Milledgeville (Tri-County) Home Demonstration Club.
Grace is survived by her daughter, Ann Spencer Tuberville of Milledgeville, Tennessee; grandchildren, Joey Tuberville and wife, Cindy, Justin Tuberville and wife, Brandy; great grandchildren, Tyler Tuberville, Elly Kate Tuberville, Kirby Tuberville, and Lynley Grace Tuberville; sisters, Dorothy L. Bridges and Marie Wells both of Milledgeville, Tennessee; brothers, Harold Rickman of Bolivar, Tennessee and Jerry Dean Rickman of Adamsville, Tennessee.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Beatrice Hughes; brothers, Otis, Gene, Roy, and Carl Rickman; son-in-law, Jimmy Tuberville.
