Grady L. Lipscomb

Grady Lee Lipscomb of Lawrenceburg, TN was born on June 1, 1931 in Lawrence County, Tennessee, the son of the late D.O. Lipscomb and Ida Birdie White Lipscomb. Mr. Lipscomb died on Monday, July 7, 2014 at Maury Regional Hospital in Columbia, Tennessee at the age of 83 Years, 1 Month, 6 Days. Mr. Lipscomb was a farmer, formerly worked at Genesco, and was a member of Deerfield Baptist Church. He was married to Willodean Brewer July 5, 1951.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Willodean Brewer Lipscomb of Lawrenceburg, TN, a son, Robert Lee Lipscomb of Memphis, TN, a daughter, Joyce Bender of Spring Hill, TN, two grandchildren, Kandice Coffey of Florence, AL and Lisette Liang of Atlanta, GA, three sisters, Sue Brewer of Grosse Pointe Woods, MI, Grace Alred of Tullahoma, TN, and Bonnie Sanders of Lawrenceburg, TN, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Lipscomb was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda McCord, a granddaughter, Kari Brown, and several brothers and sisters.

Services will be Thursday, July 10, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Shackelford Funeral Directors Chapel in Waynesboro with Cal Hampton officiating. Burial will follow in Highland United Methodist Church Cemetery with Shackelford Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements.

Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 5:00-9:00 PM and Thursday from 8:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.
