I. V. Clovis Pope

I. V. Clovis Pope of Waynesboro, TN was born March 18, 1924 in Wayne Co., TN, the son of the late George and Argie Elizabeth Bunch Pope. He was united in marriage to Emma Colene Horton on July 6, 1946 and she preceded him in death on May 9, 2004.

Mr. Pope was a carpenter and had worked at Genesco, Savannah Aluminum and as custodian at the Wayne County Courthouse, served in the United States Army where he received a Purple Heart and was a member of Phillips Chapel Church in Waynesboro, Tennessee.

He loved the Lord, his family, fishing, gardening, trading and tinkering on stuff.

Mr. Pope departed this life Thursday, February 8, 2018 at Waynesboro Health and Rehab in Waynesboro, Tennessee at the age of 93 Years, 10 Months, 21 Days.

He is survived by son, Jimmy Pope and wife, Sharon of Clifton, TN; grandchildren, Kristy Prince, husband, Larry and Ricky Inman, wife, Shelli all of Waynesboro, TN; great-grandchildren, Zach Inman, wife, Sarah, Hayley Inman, Brittney Wallace, husband, Danville, Chandler, Paxton and Myles Prince and nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Pope was preceded in death by a daughter, Kay Inman; brothers, Harvey, Ernie, Clyde, Ruby (Red), Willard, Dallas Pope; a sister, Lela Davis.

Services will be Saturday, February 10, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Shackelford Funeral Directors chapel, Waynesboro, Tennessee, with Ronnie Pope and N. J. Pope officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens, Waynesboro, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County, directing. Visitation will be Friday, February 9, 2018 from 4:30 pm to 8 pm and Saturday, February 10, 2018 from 8 am until service time at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Stan, Robert, Brian, Kyle, Phillip and Jeremy Pope.
