Ina McIntyre Jacobs of Hendersonville, TN, formerly of McNairy County, was born December 7, 1931 in Bethel Springs, TN the daughter of the late Grover Cleveland (Jim) McIntyre and Ina Bea Manuel McIntyre.
Mrs. Jacobs graduated from Bethel Springs High School and went on to attend West Tennessee Business College where she met her husband Walter Jacobs. They were married in 1954 and celebrated 63 years together.
Ina loved Elvis, shopping, cooking, and reading. She believed there was always time to pick up a book and read to a child. She had a lifelong love for antiques, and enjoyed building her collection with her husband over the years. After raising her children, Ina served her community by volunteering for decades at several hospitals in the Nashville, Atlanta, and Memphis communities. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Hendersonville, TN.
Mrs. Jacobs departed this life on January 14, 2018 in Hendersonville, Tennessee at the age of 86. She is survived by her husband Albert Walter Jacobs of Hendersonville, TN; a son, Anthony "Tony" Jacobs; a daughter, Susan Hayne; a brother along with 6 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and a host of extended family and friends.
In addition to her parents, Mrs Jacobs was preceded in death by two sons, Ronald Jacobs and Russ Jacobs; four brothers and a sister.
We have lost a wonderful and caring daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who leaves behind a legacy of loving, parenting, mentoring, cooking, reading, and volunteering to help others in need. She was a genuine, kind, and sincere soul whose heart was full of pride for her family. She will be sorely missed.
