Irene L. Tilley (née Hughes) passed away February 12, 2015 in Corinth, Mississippi at Magnolia Regional Hospital. She was 47 years old.
Irene was born in Waipahu, Hawaii on February 23, 1967 and grew up in Richfield, Ohio. In October of 1982, she moved to West Tennessee with her mother. She graduated from Northeast Community College in 1995 with an Associate’s Degree in Nursing and found her calling. She worked as a hospice nurse around Prentiss County, Mississippi, for several years before working with AIDS patients in Memphis, Tennessee, later working long hours at the Regional Hospital of Jackson, Tennessee. She also worked as a nurse at the South Central Correctional Facility in Clifton, Tennessee.
Irene was united in marriage to Raymond Tilley on December 27, 2001. She was also a caring, loving, and proud mother, teaching her children to be strong and independent individuals.
She is survived by her husband Raymond Tilley of Bethel Springs, TN; her mother, Jessica Sue Raines Crow and husband Doyle of Booneville, MS; her
children, Rachel M. Tilley (Philip) of Jackson, TN, Pvt. Logan P. Tilley, U. S. Army South Korea, Phoenix Sequoyah Tilley of Bethel Springs, TN, and Candace Beswetheric of Dandridge, TN; two grandchildren, Jacob and Ty; a sister, Patricia Y. Hughes of Cleveland, OH; her mother-in-law, Alphie R. Tilley of Collinwood, TN and a host of extended family and friends.
