Mrs. J. Dean Harrison, age 78, of Saulsbury, passed away Friday night, August 15, 2014 at St. Francis Hospital in Memphis.
The widow of Gillis "Corky" Harrison, she worked as a dental sales associate for L&A Dental Supply from 1971-1981. She was born June 16, 1936 in Red Boiling Springs, TN, daughter of the late Jay Mack Purcell and Betty Ulary King Purcell, living in Memphis for some time prior to moving back here. She married Corky Harrison on January 23, 1954 and he preceded her in death on December 6, 1994. She loved quilting, working puzzles and reading and was a Primitive Baptist in belief.
Survivors include three daughters and their husbands, LaDonna (Randy) McLearen of Saulsbury, Cathy (Keith) Roberts of Glendale, MO and Becky (Calvin) Ward of Middleton; two sons and a daughter in law, Mark (Dorothy) Harrison and Ronny Harrison, all of Saulsbury; three sisters, Carolyn Markham of Hartsville, TN, Alma Schulkers of Lobelville and Mary Edith Witt of Lafayette; one brother, Bobby Gail Purcell of Nashville; nine grandchildren, Amy Roberts, Randy McLearen, Jr., LaChelle Killough, Gary McLearen, Jr., Micky McLearen, Cayla Rhea, Jessica Harrison, Tammy Stone and Calvin Ward, II; and eighteen great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Ila Tuck and Georgia Williams and a brother, Junior Mack Purcell.
