J. W. Sparks

Mr. J. W. Sparks, age 80, of Hornsby, departed this life Thursday, August 14, 2014 at his home.

The widower of Annie Mae Carlin Sparks and Sandra Moore Sparks, he worked in construction. He was born in Hardeman County on December 1, 1933 to the late James Thurston Sparks and Ruby Delores McCarter Sparks and lived his life here. He was a Baptist in belief and greatly enjoyed fishing.

Survivors include two sons, Jerry Sparks of Selmer and Tommy Sparks of Hornsby; four grandchildren, Dustin Sparks of Selmer, Kristie Denmark of Flippin, Ark., Kim Burkeen of Stantonville and Wendy Brock of Walnut, Miss.; and six great grandchildren. In addition to his parents and his wives, he was preceded in death by a sister, Peggy Brumbelow.
